Customs Excise and VAT Department Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi is one of the excise and value added tax departments under the National Board of Revenue. The Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Rajshahi was started separately on 24 March 1993 with the aim of increasing the dynamism of revenue administration at the field level as the scope of indirect tax was expanded in the value added tax system introduced in 1991. Under which the Customs Excise and VAT Department, Chapainawabganj started its journey.
